Southwestern Pop Warner Mission Statement
Southwestern Pop Warner is a non profit Pop Warner football and competitive cheer organization. We are located in the beautiful city of Otay Ranch, Bonita Vista and Chula Vista. Our program's interest is inbuilding leadership, learning skills, teamwork, and discipline through football and cheerleading. We encourage good sportsmanship, strong team unity and respect for our community and each other.
We are focused on keeping youth sports in its proper perspective while embracing the Pop Warner philosophy that scholastic and athletic achievement should go hand in hand. Our commitment to academics is what separates our organization from other youth sports programs in the area. As a member of the only national youth sports organization that requires scholastic aptitude to participate, Southwestern Pop Warner is committed to developing its young people on the field and off. This year we will continue to expand our efforts in team and activity participation, as well as visibility and outreach in the community. At every level, our program seeks to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheer leading, and dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.
We are an all volunteer staff that is dedicated to making each child’s experience a positive one.Southwestern Pop Warner is open to all boys and girls age 7 through 15 regardless of race, creed or national origin.
Our Board of Directors, headed by President Roy Buenviaje, welcomes all players, cheerleaders, their families andfans to come join us. We hope you will find this website useful throughout the year. We will continue tokeep it updated with useful information such as sign up dates, league events and schedules.

Southwestern Pop Warner Football and Cheer
We have developed a code of ethics that we will encourage and enforce all participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and community supporters to obey while attending San Diego Pop Warner events.
Code of Ethics
I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstration positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.
I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
I will require that my child’s coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth sports coach and that the coach upholds the Coaches Code of Ethics.
I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
I will remember that the game is for youths not adults.
I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation.
I will read the National Standards for Youth Sports and do what I can to help all youth sports organizations implement and enforce them.
